Just make sure to soak your brush first. Then shake out excess water out of brush and swirl on soap 20 circles one way then 20 circles the other way. Then put 5 drops of water in scuttle and swirl away for a minute then add 5 more drops of water and swirl some more and you should have a stiff pile of cool whip.

    +1 and

    By all means experiment....
Your water is different and your expectations,
brush and face are different. You do not need to
    shave with these experimental lathers.

A puck of Tabac is a lot of shave soap so
some tinkering will hardly make a dent.

This is key with any soap. I avoided soaps for the first year because I had not caught on to the fact that you have to shake the excess water out or you will just be building a weak lather on top of the soap puck and never really loading the brush.

Take a wet brush and start swirling it on the puck. You really can't go wrong. I have a puck and it is a very hard soap.

There are many ways to skin a cat. I just put some water on the puck while I shower, tip it out and load my brush in the Tabac bowl. I then lather on my face. Just wanted to say thanks for bringing up Tabac, reading this at work today made me really look forward to shaving with mine tonight. It was lovely as always...

Tabac is the easiest soap to lather for me by a mile. It's my favorite!

It's simple.....soak brush while showering. Give brush a gentle squeeze and lightly shake out excess water. swirl on top for 30 - 60 seconds until brush is creamy and loaded (I do this with the puck and brush parallel to the floor). Next, start building lather in your scuttle or directly on your face! Enjoy the mysterious aroma and unparalleled performance of tabac.
