Thanked: 4942Olive Oil Soap
For the last several months, I have been using an olive oil soap to wash my face right before lathering up with the suds. The results have been very nice and I was wondering if this was on the order of using a pre-shave oil? Anyone else using an olive oil soap prior to lathering and shaving?
Have fun

I've used olive oil soap before but not for shaving.I found it left my face nice and soft.
Maybe you're on to something.

I started doing that when I received my Martin de Candre shaving soap.
In the package there were a couple small samples of an Olive based soap that I decided to try out.
I found that soap to be so darn good, I ordered a couple real sized ones
As I have a skin condition, I have actually been given the advice of using Olive soap by my Doc as well.
That one was called Aleppo or something..

I've been making some olive oil based shower and shave soap (separate items), I've noticed much smoother skin and better shaves. Could all be in my head though.

I have never used it before myself, but did a quick Google and like what I saw:
"Moisturize
Soap made with olive oil is a natural and hypoallergenic way to nourish and moisturize skin. Soap made with olive oil helps the skin's surface retain moisture, which translates to younger looking skin. Regular use helps keep skin looking supple and smooth."

Thanked: 4942I started using a soap called Alighieri Campostrini Puro Oliva, honest......... real name, as a tester and then ended up buying some as I liked it. I am sure there are others out there. This one is pretty good. Not cheap though.
Have fun.

Here's a place I've been using for years for Goat's milk soap. They also have Castile soap, which is 100% olive oil, IIRC. The Goat's milk soap is great too...9x out 10, I use all natural soaps, you can tell the difference.....Or I like MWF bar soap, Speick, and TOBS sandalwood.
All those are tallow based...

I've recently started using an olive oil based soap I found in a small shop in Temecula, CA where I live. The shop is in Old Town and is called The Olive Oil Company. They hand make numerous blends of olive oil and an assortment of other related products for cooking. But, they also do make soaps. I found a few bars of Sandalwood and Bay Rum Olive Oil Soaps and I snapped them up. I dig them. I'll be going back this weekend to see if I can find more!
