Recently I tried Proraso red and Bigelow. The Proraso red is some fantastic stuff (Bigelow is good too, might be better in the summer though) and it works really well for me. As I say, nothing paramount...it's perhaps one of the most used creams? But I never tried it because I thought I had the hot ticket.

    Now...what is next?
    Hey Unit,

I did the same thing! I guess great minds work alike . . . ahhh well that may be a bit of an over statement since I'm sure the old timers have already learned what we are just finding out.

Anyway, I found that if I load my brush up with my favorite soap and squeeze a half inch of Bigelow in the bowl, then lather it all together, that I get a nice lush lather that holds the moisture through out the whole pass.

AND, the added benefit for me was that my razor burn discomfort level that I had been experiencing in my problem areas, was much less.

Less pain = more fun shaving . . . whoo hooo!!
Any day on this side of the flowers is a good day!

I don't plan on crossing over to the Dark Side of the Lather. I will stay with my Soap till Cream shows up. If I get it through a giveaway then maybe I will cross over. But I will have to figure out how to face lather with cream then.

Shaving with facial hair is like a golfcourse. It's a challenge of rough and fairways. You are the skilled greenskeeper of your face?

There was a proraso red that was discontinued a few years ago that I read some favorable reviews about, but I never had the chance to try. I wonder if this is the same stuff you're talking about or something different

As to the thread topic, you don't know what you don't know!

I tried the red one for the first time this summer, so I wouldn't be able to say if it has changed since the last time it was offered.
The "new" one is a decent performing product though. Well worth a try.

Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years....

Oh, I didn't know there's been a red version before. Do you remember what scent it had?
The new one is Sandalwood, and like the new green series it's free of parabens (but probably added something else they will figure out is dangerous in a couple years )
Need help or tutoring? Check out the  .
