Default Art of Shaving Preshave Oil

So anyone use Art of Shaving preshave oil? I got a sample of it the other day and just tried it. It was amazing!! It's much more viscous than the shave oil I've been using (Pacific Shaving Co). But I love the stuff!

So anyone else use it? If so, what scent do you go with?

I use the unscented version. I've gone through two full bottles of it since using up the first travel size one that came in the original AoS shaving set that my wife gave me as a gift. I like it a lot.

I used it with my DE but I don't bother any more. Btw, if you look at the ingredients, it's only olive oil and lavender. So, I would buy a bottle and split it up - adding extra virgin olive oil. Smelled the same and just as effective and you get two for one

Careful. I suspect that that olive oil is highly refined. Applying common grocery store quality olive oil to your face would create one fine oily muck. No me, sir.

i just read a very interesting book about olive oil and pcg is correct. it's one of the most commonly faked foodstuffs in the world. even stuff called extra virgin olive oil found in u.s. grocery stores is suspect. but high end verified excellent quality oil is commonly used in some mediterranean cultures as a balm. it might have been the people of crete, or malta, or some other unlikely place that use the stuff in amazing quantities per capita.

Interesting. Thanks for the input guys. Looks like I'll be buying the legit stuff then.

Leech, did you have the unscented, or one of the scented ones?

I use the AOS Sandelwood oil. I like it on the days that I have a couple days growth.

I had used it in the past but I would say if you are using a top-quality cream or soap, you really don't need to mess around with shaving oil. The AoS stuff is OK but can get a bit cloying. It would cause my face to get a bit itchy, but it worked nonetheless.
