    Default Oil I made up

NO need to go spend too much money try this , get your self a bottle of Castor oil,or Almond oil, small amount of Virgin olive oil & a bottle of essential oils, I used Lavender, but of course there are load to pick from, Ok put two 3rds of Castor oil or Almond oil, in a spray bottle if you can fined one, if not any bottle will be ok, then add 1 3rd of Olive oil, then add 10 to 20 drops of the Lavender . shake well give it a smell, if you want more Lavender just add bit by bit, remember you can always add but cant take it away. put this on before you put your shaving cream or soap on, but after you have washed your face first.

    Dragon,
Can I ask if you have tried this?
    If so how was it?
Will it wash off with little or no residue?

I'm a bit concerned that the EPA might catch me outside the house; strip me, cover me in Dawn dish soap, then hose me down.

Careful Bro . . . in So Florida the Eco-Nazis will wash you down in short time and put you in a cage to dry if you smell like oil.

Default Shave of the day with home made pre-shave oil

I use home made pre-shave oil a lot. it's cheap and easy to make and the ingredients can be found at most Walgreens. This was my shave from Wednesday October 17th 2012, using pre-shave oil. I find that 1/3 of each ingredient's seems to work the best for me. Then put in a few drops of essential oil or vanilla or peppermint extract.

    Prep: Hot shower
Strop: Straight Razor Design "The Natural "2" Strop with hard pressed wool felt

Pre-Shave: Home made Pre-Shave oil, 1/3 Castor oil, 1/3 Vitamin E oil, 1/3 Olive oil, 4 drops Peppermint extract.

Soap: Straight Razor Design, Vanilla Bourbon
Razor: Dovo Desert Ironwood, Stainless 5/8 Best Class Blade
Brush: Vie-Long Premium 23mm Horse Hair Brush
    Toner: Thayers Unscented Witch Hazel
Aftershave: D. R. Harris After Shave Milk
    Cologne: None
    After the Shave: Bed Time

A man should only look in the mirror when he shaves.

The Pre shave that I posted here is so easy to make up and it will save you a pot of money.
But the Olive oil must be good Virgin Olive Oil, But you only need 1, 3rd Olive Oil to two 3rds Castor oil. then add the Essential Oil, Lavender , or Sandalwood, coconut anything you like, I used the Lavender now , but Im going to make up Coconut next time.

I've been making my own pre shave oil for some time. I use a variety of oils, grape, castor, almond, and olive oil. I like a citrus essential oil the most but have used vetiver, lavender and mint. There are many different grades of oil, the better ones cost a few dollars more but seem to be much thinner on the skin. No matter which oils you use, you'll save a ton of money over the commercially available oils.

One caution: If you use a very, very good Extra Virgin Olive Oil there may be a likely hood of someone wanting to lick your face. On the other hand, you'll blend well in a Italian Restaurant or food store.

You can see my oil bottle sitting behind the razor and shave cream.

Try the citrus essential oil, I found it provides a really nice aroma.
