Thanked: 14Just for fun, try a Trufitt & Hill sampler pack of their shave creams. Nice smooth creamy lather and heavenly aromas.

Thanked: 4So far Musgo Real is my favorite for both scent and performance.
And the last few shaves I've discovered that it makes an effective pre-shave as well. I rub small amounts into my beard with water until I get a milky consistency and then let it sit while I work up the lather in the bowl. This moisturizes my face in a way that plain water didn't. So my skin doesn't pull the moisture out of the lather and the lather lasts longer without drying. I'm getting a better shave.

You should try Dreadnought. Or Blue Beard's Revenge depending on where you live. It lathers fantastically and is pretty advanced stuff.

I got sample sets from TOBS, Trumper, Truefitt & Hill and SRD - so far. I'll be trying something new every day for awhile, but I must agree about the creams. So far I like the T&H Grafton and Trumper's Spanish Leather shaving creams. I'm also getting some more from Garry's Samples.
It's difficult for me to tell how long the scent lasts, or really gauge the difference between what I like and what smells better on me to other people, so while the cream is one thing, I'm thinking that as long as I get a good lasting close shave, then the choice of a complimentary after shave will have more long-term consequence. (I'm still waiting for a positive comment from SWMBO, preferably later in the day. Now, I did say that she needs to SPEAK UP if she ever smells something she really likes, so it's not like she hasn't been properly threatened with me just buying a full tub of whatever I settle on by myself. According to her, however, most of them smell pretty much the same out of the mug, but then subtle nuances haven't exactly ever been her thing.)Last edited by Furcifer; 12-29-2012 at 10:56 AM.

Hi Unit,
if you like spice, try TOBS Mr Taylor" (ok, ok, that's my favourite fragrance so I might not be totally objective on this one )--

Unit, I'm not sure anyone mentioned it already, but, if you don't dislike the menthol fragrance too much, give proraso a try. I do always get a great lather and a great shave with proraso shaving cream

I use Maca Root from BS. Real Shaving Company Sensitive formula. Groomed shaving cream (made real shaving co) and Ingram.
I've tried a sample of Nomad and will be buying some. Smells great, lathers well.
I do like all creams listed.
