you wouldn't wanna use 99% alcohol, because it won't kill all the bacteria
instead, dilute it to achieve a 60% solution, and you will be able go get pretty much all of them
the reason behind this is that pure alcohol will denaturate the proteins on the outer cell membrane and won't diffuse into the cell

Camellia oil is good for me, sometimes called white tea tree oil, depending on origin.

... but then it won't do much good to just sterilize your blade and not your hands, face, brush and so on!

It kills germs but also sounds like "How to make steel rust quickly".
I've never used it on steel but it's very good at oxidizing things.

Over 60% H2O2 and it tends to go KaBoom!
