Paul for that price u can't go wrong.. It could be weather related also.. After shaving today I used the clubman first than applied the Nivea balm.. I noticed not as much redness as usual.. I haven't noticed this much redness when the weather is a bit warmer.. Maybe in the colder months I'm going to have to use a moisturizer more often

I'm not sure how this works, but it seems that some scented products contain alcohol and some don't.
Maybe it has something to do with getting scented oils to mix with the other ingredients. I dunno.
Even straight witch hazel contains some alcohol.
The unscented version of the "Escential Lotions" product I mentioned does not kill the scent of an
aftershave that is applied first.

Thanked: 6Artificial scents and alcohol will more than likely cause irritation to some degree. If you have sensitive skin then it will be more apparent. A couple of months ago (September, I think) my wife got me some Clarins pre-shave oil and soothing aftershave lotion. Fantastic products and although expensive ($30 or so for each), I've only used half of the aftershave and maybe 1/8th of the oil. They both have essential oils and the aftershave lotion is loaded with shea to moisturize and soothe.

Something you can try is after you put on a balm, put a couple drops of baby oil in your palm and add whatever aftershave you use to that. Not too much. If it comes down to not using Clubman, I'm going with a dry face .
