    Default Balm suggestions please!

I have enjoyed using a few different soaps and creams but so far not strayed from my Nivea supermarket aftershave balm. It does the job, but has a very boring scent, which is annoying after I've smelt nice Jermyn Street cream while shaving.

I've noticed that many scents aren't available in a balm product. Proraso is a little limited and tobs St James doesn't come in a balm (though Jermyn Street does) I know there are many more options in aftershaves, but I like using balm for my skin.

So I'm canvassing for recommendations (I recently read a similar post on creams and was amazed at the range of brands I've never seen)

What balms can you point out to me? Has anyone tried the RazoRock balms?

I also prefer balms due to my drier skin. Razorock aftershave wax is TERRIFIC! The best balm I have I think. I love the scent which is long lasting.
Arlington aftershave milk is nourishing but a little greasy for me. Stirling aftershave balms with aloe Vera are very good.

In Australia we have a few other options. The best is probably Natio for Men Calming Aftershave Balm. It has a light citrus scent and is very quickly absorbed. You get twice as much for the same price as Nivea.

If you want to hear the differences between the RR wax, milk and splash then find the video Freedberg made on it.

My personal favourite balm would have to be L'Occitane Baux it as the most wonderful scent I love it also as a great moisturising affect.

I've made this recommendation a thousand times here. And anyone who has seen my SOTD posts knows that i use this balm nearly every time I shave. I've tried almost every kind on the market and I have yet to come across one as good as Em's balm shaveplace.com. This is not a cologne in lotion form. In fact, I get it unscented because I use both a splash and a balm. The qualities of this balm lie in the ingredients. Its full of great stuff to make your face feel good and healthy. If you haven't tried it, I recommend it. They also sell small vials of a bay rum essential oil that I sometimes add to it. A few drops gives it a light bay rum scent that I can control. The other two that I like are Musgo Real and Speike. But Em's is where its at.

Thanks Filobiblic how do you apply a wax? It sounds strange?

OCD I'd be interested in the EM's but I'm not sure anyone in Australia stocks it. I know I could get it sent internationally but usually the shipping makes it too expensive

Men's After Shave Soother Balm | Em's Place Shaving Products

International orders: Em's Place, Inc. regrets it currently does not ship to Canada or other international destinations. This is due to custom constraints, shipping costs, governmental bureaucracy and offshore payment scams.

That is too bad it looks like a good product

I have been using Trumpers Skin Food for awhile now. A bottle last a long time. It works really well in the winter months when my skin gets really dry as well as summer months.

+1 on the Trumpers Coral Skin Food but the scent is ok, I really like the Institute Karrite balm too and its scent is very nice and low keyed tc

We all have an opinion and this is mine so take it with a grain of salt. I used the Trumpers Skin Food ( Coral & Lime) and liked it until I found the Razorock line. Now when I try to use it I find it far inferior to the RR
