    No picture today.

Sterling Margaritas in the Arctic uberlathered with AOS unscented cream. I find it makes the lather last otherwise straight soaps breakdown before I am done.

I bought some Sterling Black Ice and like it a lot but what to do for AS or cologne is an issue...

    Smooth shaving...

No done playing in the "menthol field" yet. Just ordered a sample of Stirling Glacial Obsidian...

So my menthol monday consisted of trying out a new A/S that I had never heard of. I just moved and went to the Publix near my new house. I was looking for vitamins and found this bottle that looked kinda like A/S and really the only thing that made me think it was A/S was that it said "Alcolado Menthol". No where on the bottle does it say it is A/S. Anyways it was "Superior 70" brand and it has alcohol menthol camphor and pine needle oil and eucalyptus oil. This is probably one of my more favorite A/S's now and is great feeling. It is just starting to get cool down here and I love the feeling of a brisk day with menthol A/S to make it brisker. The only thing I would have to complain about is the camphor is quite overpowering.

I hate to do a ditto thing but this is such a great combo. If I didn't so much other soap I could menthol at least four days a week. Shave on.
    Cheers,
    John

    New Combo, sorta.
Yeti Snot (I gave it 10 seconds in the microwave and a stir to melt it in to an Anchor 1 cup glass container, much easier to work with than that sample cube)
    Ralf Aust 7/8 American Point
Mennen Pacific Breeze - I need a new AS, suggestions ?

Great shave...the Yeti Snot toned down just enough so that I could still see this time...

I started with QCS Vostok, but after I tried the PREP Menthol I could not resist it, I think it was 2 or 3 Menthol Mondays in a row.
Read on the Yeti site how to gently melt it, so I gave that a try. It is a powerful hit of menthol but not as "meaty" a lather as the outstanding PREP.
The cube sample that I had of Yeti Snot was hard to work with before I zapped it and let it cool (covered)

    Sample:

    And melted in container:

Size: 25.4 KB

This does make me want to try some of the other Yeti Samples I have in the bottom of the "basket o stuff"...

    Someday...

You put me to shame. For an aftershave I like my Frankenshave stuff. I mix 40 percent aloe gel, 40 percent witch hazel, and 10 percent glycerin. I then add menthol, peppermint, and like oil.

Our experimental - home made AS would be a whole new thread.
I've been using a vegetable peeler to remove the zest of Pink Grapefruit which I soak in a blend of vodka, rum & Everclear to boost the Proof up to 110 or 55% alcohol.
Some of the blends I have added the Pimenta racemosa oil for that Bay Rum hit.
Making your own Aftershave is yet another hobby that can get way out of hand..
