Default T&H colognes -- all of them!

Graham at T&H was good enough to send me samples of their entire cologne range. So having spent three weeks working my way through each tiny bottle, I can honestly say I now smell like "a French whore's drawers" as my old man is want to say.

The table below gives you two subjective perspectives on each fragrance: mine and the all important Wife Test.

Spanish Leather: Manly, yes siree! Images of moors battling inside the Alhambra. Woody, leathery, musky. Says “I eat meat and ride a Harley
Wife test: “Hmmm… pretty good. Not my favourite though.”

Trafalgar: Woody, but softer than Spanish Leather. Cedar, sandalwood… traditional.
Wife test: “Oooh, you smell good! Come here, let me smell some more…”

1805: Clean and crisp. Oceanic fragrance. Smells pretty good as a shaving cream/lather too.
Wife test: “Nice but quite subtle.”

Grafton: Yep, this is another “manly” one. But it reminds me of the cheaper fragrances from the 70s too much. You know, Brut, Old Spice etc.
Wife test: “Nope. Does nothing for me.”

Clubman: Quite a floral scent, and oceanic. Apparently there’s mint in it, but damned if I can smell it.
Wife test: This made Katie gag, but I suspect it was more to do with the fact that she was trying to eat dinner at the time. She never recovered from that to enjoy the scent.

Freshman: Meh, too much going on. And lots of citrus smells – I don’t like citrus.
Wife test: “Mm hmm, that reminds me of you at college.” D’you reckon that’s why they called it Freshman?

West Indian Limes: If you want to walk around feeling like you have a piece of Key Lime pie hanging under your chin, this is the one for you. For the Brits on this forum, you KNOW you’ve been Tango’d!
Wife test: “Wow, I really like that one. Oooh, it’s just right for summer time. Yep, that’s my favourite.” – Bloody typical!

    Default West indian limes

WIL has been my preferred scent for nearly twenty years. Girlfriends and wives seem to usually love it, so do my kids... But i enjoy the whole line except freshman... in hte last six months or so though i have gravitated to sandalwood more than the limes, but nice weather will be here in a few months so a switch will occur.

your testing method and descriptions seem very good
    Be just and fear not.

You know when you've been Tango'd!!

Tango is a fizzy fruit drink in the UK. The advertisements usually play on the idea that you take a sip and BAM! the fruit flavour hits you right smack in the chops. Here's a Wikipedia link. But the important bit is:

"Advertisements for Tango feature various bizarre occurrences with the catchphrase "You know when you've been Tango'd" produced by the agency HHCL. These began in 1991 with an ad featuring a man being slapped around the face by an orange-clad person (Peter Geeves) immediately after drinking Tango. It received widespread condemnation after a craze for "Tangoing" people swept the nation's playgrounds, and there were reports of children receiving serious injuries or even being deafened by being slapped on the ears. Whether or not these accounts were true, subsequent advertisements have used less dangerous practices. However, the first advertisement was named the 3rd best television commercial of all time in a 2000 poll conducted by The Sunday Times and Channel 4.
Other slogans used include "You need it because you're weak" and "Feed the Tango Inside"."

Nice descriptions, and just to add to the "Tango'd" aspect, here is a classic video on Youtube that reveals the "Tango effect" better than words ever could.

    Hope you enjoy it: http://youtube.com/watch?v=I1jywlZG74o

Excellent review. I must get some West Indies lime and Trafalgar.
