Default Recieved my After Shave samples. Looking forward to trying them.

I currently have 5 AS options on my shelf. Always on the prowl for good deals. Came across Gary's Sample shop. As you can see I selected 12 samples. Floid,Myrsol and Pitralon varieties. All for a grand total of $28.oo to my mailbox. They are in nifty little eyedrop bottles. Probably enough to apply 2-3 times.
Which should be plenty to see if I like them enough to plunk down some money to get a full bottle. A great way to go IMHO.
He expects to have some new variety in the near future. And I would surely do business with him again.
Today being Clubman Friday. I abstained from using a sample and went with one of my fav's. VIBR. Bring on the weekend.

First up in the sample testing. Pitralon Polar.
I am not very good at describing scents. So I'll leave that to the parfumo site. It says Bergamot, cedarwood, vetiver, musk and amber.
It has some mild mentholation. It also makes my face feel smooth/powdery. It didn't have that much of the "burn" that some AS produce. Longevity is pretty good. I would 3 hours or more.
Bottom line this is for me a definite keeper. It will be part of my b-day and Christmas list. Tomorrow will be Pitralon Pure.

Pitralon Pure. Second contestant for my aftershave shelf. Nice sweet/floral start. Slightly more sting/warmth. No mentholated effect. The wood type base notes and spice linger for a manly effect. Powdery type feel with the Pure as well. This is another keeper. It may slide down the pecking order but it will be on the "to buy" list. So far Pitralon is a strong competitor. Tomorrow we have Pitralon Swiss. Wish he had the German original. That one I may just get a bottle from the reviews and scent pyramid.

Pitralon Swiss was on deck for tonight. Had the usual AS warmth/sting. The top note at first smelled to my nose a little medicinal. That was only the first 5mins. max. Then a faint pleasant smell. Can't really place it. Left my face feeling refined. Can't really say I was impressed. A good product. It is not after just one use on my "must have" list. that may change. I will come back to it after I have tried my other samples.
I am on to the Floid varieties. Up next Floid Black.

Floid Black. Really enjoy the scent. Sweet top notes. With a masculine middle and base. No menthol or powdery feel. But it did have the alcohol burn. Which is not a problem. This is a nice product. And something I would use. But for me not a "must have". Tomorrow Floid Suave.

Actually I didn't have a Floid Suave sample. It was Floid Vigoroso last night. Major menthol action. Which was nice. The wife thought it smelled medicinal. Not in a bad way. May be smelling the menthol itself. After about 20 minutes the "cool" feeling turned faint. The scent lasted around an hour. Left my face feeling tight and toned with a slight powder feel. This one is not going to be on my "Must have'" list. Not bad, but... I know if this was on the shelf I would skip it pretty often and use the ones I like better.

Tonight it was Floid Amber's chance to impress me. Light menthol action. Kind of a warm/sweet scent. Not long lived. Face felt nice after dry down. Slight powder effect. Good product but alas not going to be on my top shelf. Next up some Myrsol varieties. Two of them smell promising in the bottle. But that can chance upon use. Time will tell.

Myrsol Formula K. Nice menthol effect. With a mint/peppermint kind of top note. Not a long lasting scent. Left my face feeling ok. This like most of the others is not going to make the team.

Myrsol Formula C. The scent on this is floral and soapy smelling. Major no-go for me. No sting and left my face feeling ok. The scent was unfortunately long lived. Wound up washing my face after a bit. I may save this to give it to someone that pisses me off. If you like Formula C then it is proof that all things are subjective. Including AS.
