I use balms or lotions in the winter when my skin is drier.
If I use the balm in the summer I break out.
For the most part in the summer I want to keep stock prices up on Pinuad so Hirlau can keep Harbor Freight in the black....."When defeat comes, accept it as a signal that your plans are not sound,
rebuild those plans, and set sail once more toward your coveted goal."

Thanked: 0Thanks everyone for the recommendations. I have decided to buy both Thayers and Pinuad. Why not...I have already spent 200-300 on Razor, Strop, creams, brush, etc... LOL.

Thanked: 7I also prefer to use a men's after shave balm like Nivea or Dove which contain little or no alcohol (I prefer Dove). Then a few minutes later apply an after shave, cologne or EDT to the sides of my neck for scent. Do not see the need to endure the burn and find Dove balm to be soothing and healing.

For the past 25-ish years my post shave has always been the same
Rinse with COLD water. Pat dry my face...NOT wipe...pat. Small grape size dot of Corn Huskers hand lotion to my neck and cheeks. 2-3mins later splash on Stetson aftershave...not cologne...aftershave.
Until this past week!!!
I wanted to try some different colognes. So, on the advise here on SRP, I ordered several 'sample' sizes from Maggards. I also, got a few pre-shave oils and a few post shave balms, to give them a whirl, too. WoW! I guess I didn't realize what I'd been missing! The pre-shave oils I don't like....just personal pref. However, one of the post shave lotion/balms I got (Edwin Jagger Aloe moisturizing) is the kitty's Titty's!!!! After using it for a couple of days, even my shaves feel better, using the same SR. My skin feels much more soft. I will be purchasing a full size container when the sample runs out.
