Once again you guys have read my mind....I've been lurking and thinking back to an uncle who always smelled really nice, and he used either Aqua Velva or Mennen Skin Bracer. I've been trying to pull up in my mind what he had on his bathroom shelf when we visited. Now I have to go shopping.

I have the Floid Orange and like it a lot, but I'm going to have to go Blue hunting. First I think I'll sniff the Aqua Velva and Skin Bracer in the local Walgreens.

Harold, Razorock's Blue Barbershop does have an aftershave that is supposed to be their version of Floid Blue.

As I posted, I went ahead and bought Razorrock's 'Copycat/Generic' version of the Floid Blue and it landed a couple of days ago.

A friend sent me some razors to test his edges and so today I thought I'd give the generic a go after testing one.

I did my usual post shave and cleaned, dried and oiled the razor then rinsed my face with cold tap water then patted it dry with a terry cloth towel.

Out came the splash and pat-pat-pat on it went.

No real stinging at least compared to the others I use but then something happened that I've never experienced with an after shave------------

I started getting a 'warming glow' sensation on my face. I wont' say it was unpleasant--just unexpected. The glow lasted at least 15 minutes. I kept a watch to make sure that I wasn't having an allergic reaction to something in the splash and I had no redness what so ever.

I like the scent, it's quite different than anything I've ever used. I'll be trying another edge in a couple of days and will again try the generic Floid Blue to see if I get the same 'after glow'.

I've sent a small vial to my my buddy Tc to try as I believe he's used the original so he can give a report on the generic Floid Blue.

I had followed the link and unwittingly ordered the generic from Canada. The shipping was about $7 but I haven't gone to Razorrock's site to see what they want for the 100ML--3.4oz bottle. My order out of Canada was just shy of $19 and at that price I personally can't afford that on a regular basis.

So I'll be using it for Really Special Occasions--like when my kids come over for supper. Ya gotta have your priorities in life in order

That's about the exact same price as I paid with shipping to Canada as I paid $18.94 USD

I just did a bit of research and 'Razor Rock' seems to be part of 'Italian Barbershop/Which is who I purchased my Blue from' so it's in Canada as well.

Seems to be the old 'We got you'

The soap smells a lot like La Toja stick if comparing soap to soap.

May have to get some just to offset the Orange in the scent cupboard.

Wish I knew about it before the hype after they discontinued it..

I believe that there is some stupid law about shiping items that contain alcohol across the Canadian/USA border and it applies both ways.

Remanence from the days of Prohibition?
