This is what I use.

That's the same deodorant that I use (specifically the blue colored "stick"). That is ammonium alum, so I must have the wrong kind

Either way, i picked up the spray that's made with potassium alum. For some reason I like the thought of a spray. Would it make any sense at all to mix a couple of spritzes with the lather?

The ammonium ain't good for the face. Its way too strong and will burn your face way more than the potassium type.
