gugi, that is a good point, I now collect certain guns that 20 yrs ago I didnt like and said I would never own. I'll put the Tabac away for a while.

Gugi has a point. The first time I tried Tabac soap based on tons of positive recommendations, I smelled it and thought "they must be kidding" - I instantly thought '70s, Carter administration, gold chains, polyester shirts, Playboy, and disco. I put it away.
After a few months, I picked it back up again. It really grew on me, and it's a top-tier soap. Liked it so much, I bought a big bottle of the AS. It's really a clean, floral, classic, masculine scent, if not abused. Germany's answer to Old Spice.
I used to despise Aqua Velva too, and have since ended up using it every day...sparingly. I also like high-end colognes (Creed, Serge Lutens, Guerlain, etc.), so it's not a drug-store-scent fetish. But these old scents are classics for good reason, generation after generation. Certainly don't wear what you don't like, but maybe give Tabac another chance in the future.

Hi Hillie, Welcome to the forum.
Dont worry it seems there are more people who like Tabac then ones who dont. I thought the AS was a lot stronger than the shave soap.

Hi Mike, a late thanks for the welcome.
In the mean time, I received the Tabac and the first time I opened it I thought: "Oh man. It reminds me of grandma". Some strange connection. The second time "Hmmm, not so bad". Now I wonder why I bought so many different soaps, because I do dig the Tabac. The other ones I have are quite promising too.
So now I'm thinking about picking up a Tabac AS as well, just for the fun of it.

I love Tabac. It reminds me of clubbing in the 70s and the 80s.
