I got a soap sampler and a penny sample of the OBR so hopefully that will give me a good handle on things.

    Default l&p or sandalwood?

I generally dislike lime scents, so I was pleasantly surprised to find that I do like the lime & peppercorn. The sandalwood is excellent and has an advantage over any scented soap I have tried: the scent lasts a long time. The extra-strength bay rum is my standard cologne, but after shaving with the sandalwood soap I usually prefer not to overpower the scent with anything else. My vote is for the sandalwood but variety is the spice of life...or maybe this should be: varietal spices is the life.

I just ordered a sampler pack from them for 15.95, you might look into. They also have an offer for new customers.

If I'm correct the $15.95 sampler offer ends today.

From where did you get a sampler pack?

I got one from Truefitt and Hill...little overpriced. Okay, way overpriced. I've found Trumpers to have the best sample package.

I just recently got every sample scent combo from Ogallala.

John is a true top notch vendor.

I also ordered some wiener wash for my dappled dachshund. Lovely. Now she smells like subtle bay rum.

I already loved the original bay rum soap scents. Now after sniffing and trying all the other versions the Bay Rum Sandalwood is plain divine and the perfect combo. Lime and peppercorn is ok but doesn't rock my boat. The cedar/sage makes me shiver. The lemon grass is very subtle. Smells great from the puck of soap but couldn't smell anything while lathering and shaving.

The original and sandalwood are my 2 favorites and the only 2 I will stock.

Great review Max! I'm still waiting for mine. Once I've sampled everything I'll post up on review sections.

    Yes John is awesome!

THey are great. Is the weiner wash good? Was thinking about trying that along with getting a candle. This is a great fragrance that the wife and I cannot get enough of.

    Rick,

the wiender shampoo rocks big time. It smells just like the original bay rum soap, a little goes a long way, just the right amount of soapy foam and I must say the dog's hair looks extremely healthy and shiny after having used the shampoo.

I know I'm probably nuts but I have earned my nick Mad Max for a reason.
