    Who designates something as 'old man'? Just because something was used 80-100 years ago doesn't mean that it makes you smell like an old man. More than likely, these scents get black balled is because, like comfort food it gets associated with someone's grandpa and is automatically poo-pooed. Case in point, my wife won't let me wear Old Spice because it reminds her of her late grandpa that died a few years ago from cancer...the scent is very off-putting. Now on the other hand, she doesn't have a problem with Clubman that she has no mental affiliation with. It's all in folks head what they like and don't like. I recommend wearing what you like and if someone tells you that you smell like an old man, just tell them that it's so retro that it's avant garde.
