There is all types of essential oils out there that you could add to which Hazel to change the smell of it and make it to your liking.
i've tried adding essential oil of clove to dickenson's and all i got was a white cloudy mess that still stank of witch hazel.. perhaps you have had success with other brands?

the dickenson's contains 14 percent alcohol.. which i would imagine would help.. however.. it didn't.

    Default Witch Hazel

    Gentlemen:

I use Thayers Super Medicated Witch Hazel with Aloe Vera after every shave and love it. What's more, it has no significant fragrance that I can detect. I follow it with balm and aftershave lotion at spaced out intervals.

    Regards,
    Obie

Never used Witch Hazel, but I'm a big fan of so far all the Clubman scents except for the Lilac Vegetal.True they are alcohol laden, but they are very old skool scents and I'm a huge fan. love the Clubman Special Reserve and the Lime Sec is really good.Just my opinion though.

Of the Thayer's Toners I use, the only one that smells like Witch Hazel is the "Thayers Alcohol-Free Original Witch Hazel Toner". The Rose Petal, Lavendar, and Unscented Toners do not. I can't speak for the others. Hope this helps.

For those of you that do use a witch hazel after shave how are they when they are scented is it a big difference from the witch hazel you can get at the pharmacy.

If anyone wants to add what their favorite aftershave is witch hazel or not I would love to know. I read on the forums all the time about different ones but just looking to see what others are using and if there is anything real different out there. What you use and why you like it.

For myself I just use old spice classic after shave. The old spice reminds me of when I was a kid and use to watch my dad shave and he would use old spice. My wife on the other hand not a big fan of old spice tells me I smell like an old man. I then use Zirh after shave soothing lotion, Love Zirh products. I was looking at the Clubman and bay rum type after shaves and was wondering how those are as well.
In my experience, I use the Thayers Witch Hazel Astringent (little alcohol in it), then a Balm, then Thayers Witch Hazel Aftershave (more alcohol) and because it's scent (which I love) goes away in minutes, I use either Clubman Original or Bay Rum.

I've found that this combination works great for me and gives me a smooth finish and no irritation at all, considering that I have relatively sensitive skin

    Good Luck!!!!!

    Default Da Hazel

I like the Thayer's Witch Hazel Astringent. It works well and smells good to me.
