Bay Rum recommendation?
Gentlemen.
I have been using two bay rum aftershaves.. one made by Colonel Conk and the other by Wahl.
I love the Colonel Conk... has that extra bit of burn in it and length to the scent.
The wahl comes out a little 'creamy' on the face without the length or zip.
Can anybody recommend a bay rum along the same lines as the Colonel Conk? Or better?
I seem to enjoy the after shaves that burn a bit too.
Thank you in advance you fine fellows.

Thanked: 1160Well there are many a fine Bayrums out there.I am a Pinaud Clubman Bay Rum fan myself.Very old school classic. But Ogalolla Is the long lasting stuff. There is also a brand call Superior 70 which I've never tried but have heard raves about. It's super cheap and the real deal but it's hard to find ,some Walgreens in latin communities carry it but I am not sure?

+1 on the Pinaud Clubman Bay Rum. Very inexpensive and the warden likes it.

Thanked: 1160Also Dominica is good smelling and stingy from what I've heard but does not last long.I used to use Col. Conk's a long time ago but dropped it in favor of the Clubman brand.

+1 on the Pinaud Clubman Bay Rum also I loved that aftershave.. unfortunately the 2 SWMBO ( Wife and Daughter ) hated the scent so it is currently out of my rotation.

I like the Ogallala. I catch whiffs of it throughout the day. They also have a BayRum, Limes & Peppercorn after shave that i like.
They usually give you some nice samples if you order from them. Both the Bay Rum and the lime have witch hazel so they seem a little soothing to me but still have a burn from the alcohol.

It seems as though the scents that last longer have other scents with the Bay Rum. That's fine. I enjoy the Pinaud, Ogallala, and others.
BUT one of the things I like about Bay Rum, is generally that the smell does go away. Sometimes you don't want others to smell you, but still want a little after shave treatment.
Gabels always leaves me with fond memories of an old barber shop bay rum, and is nicely gone by the time I'm at the office.

Sta Lucia is along the lines of Dominica with a bit more spice to it. Royall is probably the class bayrum. it's expensive but if you watch Eboy the distributer usually a couple times a year has a deal where you can get the stuff for around $15 per bottle (8 oz) including shipping if you buy 4.
