My favorite is Ogallala, though I disagree on it being long-lasting. For me anyway, it disipates very quickly. But it's great stuff! If it's burn you like, go with Pineaud Clubman. It burns like a sinner in Hell. I'd say more, but as Otto pointed out, Glen has said it all.

+1 on checking Glen's thread and my personal favorite was Capt. Smith until I started making my own with the recipe in this thread:http://straightrazorpalace.com/presh...m-recipes.html

I couldn't have said it better myself. The only observation that I may add is that I don't feel a heavy burn as when I use the Dominica BR. Again, you can't go wrong for $2 a bottle. HOG

It seems as though the scents that last longer have other scents with the Bay Rum. That's fine. I enjoy the Pinaud, Ogallala, and others.

BUT one of the things I like about Bay Rum, is generally that the smell does go away. Sometimes you don't want others to smell you, but still want a little after shave treatment.

Gabels always leaves me with fond memories of an old barber shop bay rum, and is nicely gone by the time I'm at the office.

Sta Lucia is along the lines of Dominica with a bit more spice to it. Royall is probably the class bayrum. it's expensive but if you watch Eboy the distributer usually a couple times a year has a deal where you can get the stuff for around $15 per bottle (8 oz) including shipping if you buy 4.

I've been using Lucky Tiger Bay Rum. It's not overpowering, but leaves a light enough scent to remind you that you're wearing it

    Gentlemen.

    I appreciate all the input.

Postage is somewhat prohibitive when it comes to my options.

I think I will go the SRD route and grab the Dominican, St Lucia and Clubman bay rums along with the Spieck which I have also heard is quite good.

Maybe a strop or razor too... just to make it worth my while

Royall I will certainly keep my eye on too.... I see an imminent new year purchase on the horizon. May grab that Lucky Tiger too.. looks old school.

I wish you all great shaves.
