Default What are your thoughts on leather

Hello gents, once again I join you on the quest to find a new aftershave. I think I've decided that something in the variety of leather looks to be what the doctor ordered. But now I have choices, and have turned to you. What in your opinion is the best Leather aftershave available today and why. I'm thinking really hard on the GFT Spanish leather, thoughts? Thanks again gentlemen.
No that pistol isn't the only thing under my kilt, but I can tell you both of them work just fine

The GFT Spanish Leather is really good, but in my opinion, there is no better leather scent than vintage Mem Co English Leather. Can be found on the bay for resonable price.

IMO, Leather scents are one of the most masculine out there. Every guy should have at least one leather scent in their shave den. I like English Leather, probably more for nostalgic reasons, since it's a favorite of my Grandfather. But you can't beat Spanish Leather, either from Trumpers or T&H. It's like masculinity in a bottle, and smells like English Leather would if it weren't cheap.

Leather is great. Especially when the missus dresses up in that tight leather outfit and gets her whips and...err...Oh, that leather.

I've never thought those AS's really smelled like leather and years ago I was a real fan of English leather.

Trumpers Spanish Leather would be my choice. Ok, its not the cheapest, but the scent is so good and strong you hardly need any of it and it really lasts.

    Its good stuff!

    Hello, Devilpup:

The "best" leather aftershave does not exist. The "best" to whom? What I can give you is my "preferred" leather aftershave. Yet, there, too, I would have difficulty doing so, because the three "leather" aftershaves with which I am familiar I love equally — each for what it is. These leathers are:

    1. Spanish Leather by Truefitt & Hill.
    2. Spanish Leather by Geo F Trumper
    3. English Leather (by Dana, I think)
    4. Wood of Windsor (I include this for elements of what the others have).

I have used all four for years and plan to continue into the next century — if the Lord is willing and the creek don't rise.

Spanish Leather by Truefitt & Hill is the most complex of the group. The fragrance is intoxicating. If I could, I would bath in it everyday. This one is also the most expensive of the group.

Spanish Leather by Geo F Trumper is a clean and soapy fragrance that lifts the spirit. It's a happy fragrance. When wearing this fragrance, you know all is well in the world. In price, I would say this is second to that by Truefitt & Hill.

English Leather is a rustic delight. It, too, has a clean and soapy fragrance with all the warmth of coffee spiked with a shot of Irish whiskey.

Woods of Windsor has elements of all three. It is a clean and soapy fragrance, and is warm as summer sunshine. It is harder to find, and third in the price range.

My advice would be to experience each for what it is.

    Regards,

    Obie
