Martin De Cadre Bought, now i Need Your Help...
Evening all,
I've just taken the plunge and bought some Martin De Cadre. I understand is has a Lavender scent of sorts, can any of you recommend an aftershave/cologne that would work well with this soap?
Thanks in advance,
Rob

I get a smoky lavandar scent , when I smell MDC, and to be honest the scent doesnt linger too much, so u can get away with wearing any EDT , however if your after matching the pair, I heard the MDC EDTs are great. When I use MDC i pair it with Loccitanes " Loccitane" or "Vetyver" Cologne, which go great with it.

lately I find myself using Edwin Jagger Sea Buckhorn ASB and GFT Wild Fern with my MDC. Works great.

Really any good soap should leave no lingering scent and MDC follows in this vein so you can use anything you want.

It's not a lavender scent, and it's not an english lavender scent, the lavender is very subtle and is the french style lavender....more spicy. The main scent is the benzoin because is powerful than mint and lavender .
The aftershave that I bought to pair with this sopa is the Myrsol Balsamic Water, it's made from natural plants extracts, rosemary, timus and lavender. For me is the only aftershave that pair almost exactly with the MdC scent. Other aftershaves that can be used are the opaline lotion and the ...Bay Rum, yes I think the Bay Rum can go well with MdC.
The balsamic scents go well with MdC (incense, pepper, ...) and the aromatic herbs as rosemary, lavender (the french style), peppermint,....Last edited by du212; 09-05-2011 at 05:49 AM. Reason: forgotten bayrum

Hello, Perished. Martin de Candre's fragrance is a subtle blend of French lavender and mint. French lavender is more earthy than its sweeter English counterpart. The overall fragrance nods toward the mossy delight of a quality single malt scotch. Either way, the soap will not leave a lingering fragrance after you wash your face. In that case any aftershave will work.

+1 on my good friend Obie's sage advice. I don't think you have to worry too much about the Lavender scent. It isn't cloying or long-lasting.
I use MDC Vetvyer. But you can use any aftershave, cologne, Eau de Toilette, etc. as a followup."Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter." Mark Twain
