I too suffer from oily skin and battle acne on occasion. I only use Nivea Balm(which I love), if I have a rough shave; which is rare these days. I use an alum bar, 5 min to dry, "pat" the face with a damp cold towel, the use witch hazel. The witch hazel works great & I prefer it to balm.

I like Castle Forbes AS balms. I don't find them to be greasy at all.

I've had very good luck with Al's Shaving products, the after shave balm moisturizes but doesn't seem oily to me. It's much thicker out of the bottle than the AOS, closer to a balm than a lotion, (I use both). And some of Al's scents are killer. Really like the 'goodfellas'. .02

Try Baxter of California ASB. Very soothing and non greasy. And budget friendly. I like it...and my wife likes the way it smells.

Yes, just cold water and dab dry. Seriously, you don't always need an aftershave. I prefer the non-alcoholic balms but they can have high sterol, glycerin and even oils sometimes. The alcoholic aftershaves will tighten, burn a little and usually leave your face dryer than a balm. You may want to try that or just rinse with cold water and leave it at that. Good luck.
