    Default Non oily aftershave balm?

I've been using the art of shaving after shave balm as well as the nivea after shave balm but both leave my face feeling oily and it's causing my skin to break out in acne.

Anyone using a balm that doesn't leave this feeling?

    Thanks,

    Paul

I use both of those too and find that I will break out if I use those alone. I always let it soak in for 10-15 minutes while I clean up then I use an alcohol based AS to remove any oiliness and tighten my skin. I dont have break outs now and I dont loose any moisture. YMMV but its worked for me. Good luck!

What alcohol based AS do you use?

Ha, I'll take that under consideration. I can't use aqua velva, they used to make us clean the floors with it at Parris Island!

I used to use both nivea and aos balms too but have since moved on because I walked out of the bathroom with a face so oily I shined. Try proraso balm, its a bit lighter in consistency than the nivea and I think someone told me that its technically an emulsion and not a true balm. Also, I have crabtree and evelyn sienna and nomad balms, around the same consistency of aos but less oily I think. If you haven't tried any alcohol based lotions yet try pinaud clubman, its a classic!

My favorite balm would be corn husker's lotion. its not oily at all, works like a dream, is cheap and readily available.
with the more oily balms you are probably using too much.
