    I used St. James of London pre-shave oil as well as Nivea and Nivea soft. I didn't feel they did any more tham moisturising and found no real benefit for shaving.

    I'm with pixelfixed on this one, I haven't used any of those for quite a while and have not noticed any decline in shaving pleasure or comfort. But I guess they don't do any harm, and some others might add something, I don't know. I do tend to use soaps (mainly tallow-based) and creams with good moisturising and cushioning properties, so that might have something to do with it.

    Why do you need pre shave oil? just curious.
    It is good if you have dry skin and to prevent dry skin especially in the winter.
