Thanked: 4206Its subtle, and yet unique for sure.
Falls into fragrance, not after shave category as per maker.
What poked my probiscus was patchouli-esk top notes followed by leather. Definitely leather in there.
If I close my eyes, knowing the description, I'm like yes, that could be an old, old first edition I'm smelling. Not so sure if I get the wood polish in the base notes but it is pretty close to what is described.
Not knowing what to expect, I am pleased. And 100ml is a pretty good size for the dough.
The reviews all tend to say it fades quickly. I contend that it doesn't so much as it's such a familiar scent you just get used to it on yourself quickly.
My daughter came home over four hours after application and said I smelled terrific and what was it? I could no longer discern that I was wearing it by this point.
Oh, also, it's a water based, White Russian looking concoction that will freeze, but not evaporate as quickly as alcohol based scents.
Perfumer, Christopher Brosius created a wealth of intriguing, not to smell like off the shelf, fragrances. Some of which are right up my alley to try. 'At the beach 1966' for example will be acquired, when I can afford it, based on my initial impressions.
These are marketed as perfumes, and the concentrates are probably just that. The water based however seem more like a cologne type, non stingy splash.
Says on the bottle, ' not to be applied on face'??
But that's where I've been wearing it and my face is still intact, and still homely. No blemishes or reactions of any kind.
Here's the link for those interested.
The guy and his site seem pretty avant-something to me. But I figure a guy that creates things that accurately smell like obscure things, or sensations should be kind of willi wonky anyway.
Here's the link for those curious, and there's my $0.02 review.

Aloha!
After a fine Straight Razor with some thick and rich Stirling Grapefruit Soap whipped up nicely,
SWMBO loves this combo:
Lucky Tiger Aftershave followed by M&L Orange Blossom Cologne to kick the orange scent up a notch;
Enjoy the weekend gentlemen.

Acqua di Gio.
It's almost a 15year-old bottle and it's still going strong.
