Brutal
I was in a big chain store today buying some products and was in the men's hygiene section for bit. I overheard some people looking for something, but were confused to what it was that grandpa wanted. I finally heard Brut come up. I decide to give them a hand, explained that it was an aftershave, cologne and deodorant. It was a mother and her kid, the kid still remained perplexed while the mother finally understood. She explained to her kid, 'oh it is just something old men use.' I guess if it does not come in a pressurized can, bold graphics and named after a sharp tool he would not get it. Hmm, I cannot judge though, a few years ago I would never had touched Pinuad, Old Spice (well, the classic scent), Aqua Velva and Brut. Hmm, I guess I am just an old man now.

No, your not, it just takes a few years to appreciate what a great aftershave smells like.

I think the fact that these AS's have been around so long is a testament to their appeal across the generations. Does that make you an Old Man if you use them? Certainly not. Distinguished and classy? Perhaps
Have fun.

LOL... the branding gods are making you into the person who judges via the notions they are selling!!! Epic win for the marketers! But you are better than that!
We all know the cool kids are the kids who don't listen to those notions sold to us by corporate america lol.

The other day a classmate of my daughter told her -"You dress like an old lady". It hit her a little, so my wife and I got her to look at herself and why she dresses like she dresses. To appreciate her originality. She has her own style and the other girl just had a nasty case of Disney brainwashing. Like that, the marketing people try to change our likes and dislikes and buy the personality. To be able to decide on your terms what you will buy is freedom. So, Mephisto, you are not an old man, but a wise man. I'll agree to be old at 95, and then, old and wise. And I haven't used Brut in a long time, just gave me an idea to go try it.
Arise, awake, and learn by approaching the exalted ones,
for that path is sharp as a razor’s edge, impassable,
and hard to go by, say the wise. Katha Upanishad – 1.3.14

Even though most would never admit it the fact is for probably 90% of the population what you buy is influenced almost completely by Madison Avenue. The stats support that. The older you get the least likely you are to be influenced. That's why most advertising is geared to the younger set. Once you reach around 50 you don't exist to advertisers even though folks in that age category have all the money.

I dont know, at EVERY age, I seem to hate Brut
But then again, nobody has EVER accused me of having taste, class, or sense!
