that is a wild looking blade Entropy
when you rotate the scales open will the scales tail clash with your face or neck being so long?Saved,
to shave another day.

yes I think they would difinately interfer when stopping unless you held then at 90° to the blade
oh the fun of designing LOL
I have drawn about 20 different desgns so far, cut 5 out of black card to lay over the blade drawing photo to see how it all looks & still tinking of more each day LOLSaved,
to shave another day.

My biggest concern is how to wield a beast like that when shaving. Love the idea of big scales to match the blade but don't want to make it unusable - will be tricky enough given the blade's own wickedness!
Almost the kind of blade you simply need a sheath for.

Stropping with the scales at 90 degree might be possible if you can hold it from the outside
