Eugh! I just realised the duty and tax costs for my purchases from PRC, amounts to around 30% + mark up; still, I think when compared to similar style European and other US makers my purchase looks good value.

Hoorays all round as my Hydra finally makes it over the threshold!
Very happy chappie, it shaves as well as it looks.

I knew you would be happy with a PRC razor. They are robust and well made pieces for sure.
German blade snob!

I love it, and I'm glad I opted for the bluing as it gives it a nice vintage look. I'm impressed with the strop too, it actually feels like something you could hitch a Suffolk Punch to and plough fields with.

I had the same thing with a razor from Nate's Straights, I still think it was worth the money. I have one coming from Mrs Porl as a Christmas gift from Koraat Knives, that came from Austria and I didn't have to pay a penny on customs or tax for that. It is also very well made, but I am not allowed to shave with it until Christmas! You should check them out.
Fact: Opinions are not the same as facts... Well, that's my opinion anyway

Thanked: 24Here is Portland Razor Company's "The Strix," 8/8 French point 1/4 hollow in Maple. First off, I purchased this razor purely for its blade. I plan to have Alfredo make new scales in a much, much, much more traditional style. The Maple scales are well finished with polyurethane and accented with a dark Walnut wedge.
Cheers,
Brian
