I just got my confirmation and pictures for two I ordered. They should be here soon! 8/8 hollow Spanish tip, and a 7/8 quarter with a French tip. Can't wait.

Have you received them yet, and if so how do you like them?
    Hyperbole is highly exaggerated.

So here's my Koraat 8/8 that arrived last week.

Shipped shave ready, had a nice edge, no problem with the shave.

Ulrik takes them to 10k, then uses pasted strops to take them the rest of the way. Very nice, but I like my edges, so it spent some time on the Nani 12k, then finished with the Escher.

The steel is a very light steel, for an 8/8, big razor, would have like to have a heavier steel, even a carbon steel, something with some more heft to it, but the detail was very nice, and is a well ground razor.

Got mine with a thumb notch and some jimps, he did some nice patterning on the tang, and there are some nice tiny notches cut into the heel of the razor, and with stabilized Bog scales and Nickel wedge.

Very nice blade, and always great when the invoice arrives right at the end of a home renovation....

This is a superb razor, beautiful in the hand, easy BBS, and another example of fine craftsmanship. Wonder what the Damascus steel is like.....

    Pics or it didn't happen:

    Gents,

I just received my long awaited birthday gift.
It's 7/8 Spanish Point, lightly hammered spine with horn scales.
I do like shaving with this specimen, A LOT!

It's has been a pleasure working with Ulrik on this project.
From inception of the idea through fine tuning the details to actually shaving with the finish product.

I actually like the weight of 7/8 blade, Phrank above mentioned above that he prefers heavier steel but to me, this feels just right.
Attached are the pics which I received from Ulrik but if you'd like to see additional ones just ping me.

Thank you to all of you who contributed and shared their beautiful razors on this forum! Your posts definitely encouraged me to work and finally order a blade from Ulrik.
    Cheers!

Yes, spectacular work, obviously some intricate grinding, and what made me laugh when I got it, was I expected the bellied grind to leap out at me, like I could jump up and sit down on it and watch the city below - LOL.

Of course it's there, but it related to an earlier post from Tom (Sharpton), when he mentioned that probably most of the larger hollow ground razors would be bellied, and sure enough, the four Palmera's, the Fili's, when you rub your thumb and index figure you can easily feel the bellied grind.

This Koraat you can actually see it clearly, which is nice, and the "hamon" line (I know this isn't the proper term probably, apologies) just illuminates how much detail went into the blade, the design on the tang, the jimps, and the nice decorative work on the heel of the razor.

Ulrik clearly has high standards, the pins, washers, collars, scale material, wedge - all can be chosen using the configurator, and all the materials are top quality.

When I'd customized the edge to the way I like it, did my first WTG pass, and the blade was like a sports car hugging the turns, glued to my face and still get a chuckle out of that "scraping burnt toast" sound as a well made hollow ground does it's work.

This razor IMO, clearly a must have....

I received my 6/8 full hollow yesterday. Beautiful and shaves very smooth. Well worth the ten week waiting period.
