    Hat's off, Steve!

    What exactly IS a Wotan?
Other than this fine razor, of course!

    NO! I shan't google it!
Actually Tom, this is the only Wotan I have ever seen. I'm sure there are more of them, just not on Ebay! I assume you want me to keep an eye out on your behalf?

I'm down to my last few legendary blades, and they are not ALL pretty. For instance, these two. I'm posting them together, as they are sort of complimentary.

Both in need of some resto work.

I have a Henckels Wotan, except mine is a safety razor, similar to the Rapide, well almost identical, I'm guessing it is just a later version.

That one at the bottom-left? Not so late, I think!

I have had a few Wotans pass through my hands. 5/8 razors.
What is the number on that Wotan, Steve?

Both my Emperors are #81's, despite one being round point and one square.

I am not sure that the correct razors are in the correct boxes, but the top left box and the bottom right boxes are Wotans.
Bottom left is a Rapide, and I have it with me here at work. I was guessing that the Rapides came first. My thinking is that the first of these were actually made by a French company, and the company was actually Rapide, and I believe either the company or the patents got bought up by Henckels. So I was thinking the Wotans came after the Rapides.

Seems some have a self-stropper? Some do not?

Looks like you have 2 Wotans there! Boxes, at least!

    We are simultaneously posting!

I believe I have two Wotans to go with the Wotan boxes. The stroppers go with the larger sets which are all Rapides. Top center is likely the oldest of them. They are in various conditions ranging from user grade to the NOS that is not in the family picture. They all have the strop and hone blade holder and handle.
I went on a Henckels safety razor bender once upon a time.

    Perchance a crown from a bona-fide KING!
Wonder if HE was acquainted with Samuel Butcher as well?
