Lost a beautiful 8/8 W&B Celebrated, was very dirty, after a light cleaning there was a small hairline crack in the blade - there was no way the seller could have seen it. I pointed it out and the seller refunded the money.
That was a good experience with the sellers.

This particular razor wasn't rusty. I did no cleaning. The first of the two pictures I posted--the picture of the whole razor--was the seller's picture, from the B&B Buy/Sell/Trade forum. I'll try sending him a picture of the crack and see how he responds.

Yeah, I went on a buying binge this summer and have a couple dozen blades, mostly old Sheffields, that need new scales. I'm sure these scales will find a home.

Good call, Phrank. I contacted the seller. He said he'd take the razor back and issue a refund.

Looks nice, does the rams horn have any flex though?

These scales are pretty thick so no. But, if you squeeze them together in the center they do flex inward some. They are really sturdy. depending on the look you are going for, they are not perfectly straight. If you want totally polished horns then you can get them straight. I wanted that natural look so one scale bows out some. It's a different look. I like it more than I thought I would.

it might be that only one scale bows out because the razor itself is assymetric when viewed down from the top of the spine. Many sheffiels had this shape where the 'back' side of the razor is flat from shank to spine, while the 'front' is angled at the shank.

Good point. I never thought about that.
