Thanked: 9I have no idea. It was realy hard i had to polish it for some time. But you could not feal it under the fingers.
It looked like metal came in contact with something that made that hard patina or changed coolor. But the etching under that was saved almost completly.

That's funny you mention that, picked up a razor that had this faded blue crap all over the blade. I thought something melted and dripped on it. Bought it anyway, and when I started cleaning it with WD40, it seemed to melt, tried laquer thinner and it wiped off....paint!

I had a feeling like the color of tha metal chaneged because of the acid. But the thing that bothered me is that you could not feel it under the finger or chip it with a nail.
