    Lightbulb Bengall history

I hope this is relevant to your forum, I thought I would share with you some family info regarding the bengall. I note you have all the correct information regarding Luke Cadman and the Bengall stamp. I'm wondering if any of you have noted the vivid (hare) stamp also used? It is also family folklore that the Bengall razor factory was gambled away by two sisters sometime in the 1950-60's. My Grandmother was very bitter at losing her inheritance! Growing up we heard much about our razor factory and thought it was all myth, so it was a great surprise to see it all checked out. I myself have had two bengalls, hoping to acquire more of the family silver with time. If anyone in Sheffield can get to the sheffield star archives in the city library, I believe the sisters' story was reported and can be verified!! Fantastic pictures on this forum

Welcome to SRP Susie and thank you for the story. You may find some of the info interesting and there are some ladies on the site that shave their legs with straight razors and double edge razors. Hope you visit us often.

    Hi,
I just got my first Bengall!!
How do you do the close up shot without it becoming blurred on a digital camera?
    Thanks

I think most digital cameras have a "macro" setting. Try that.

I may soon be joining your Band of Bengalls Mr Jimbo James. Oz tells me things are going well, so providing there are no mis-haps by Aussie post, I'm in, with photo's to follow later on.

Awesome information. Highly relevant for us convicts because Bengalls seem to have once been the default razor of choice over here. They were everywhere for a while and I'm pretty sure most of us over here would have at least one Bengall (if not 15!) in the collection.
    Thanks again.
