Hey yogibighouse, many thanks for the gift of the blade. It gave me a crestfallen moment there, with the initial assessment from Oz. And even though you gave the blade to me, I wasn't willing to lay down more than it would cost to re-scale...Faithless cur that I am . As you can see it came out looking beautiful, and all because Oz could see some promise, at a risk level that I wasn't willing to take.
Oz has posted more photo's under the title 'Bengall in Blackbean'. Take a look. I don't want you to feel jealous. You should feel proud that this Bengall has become the Tiger it was meant to be.

Once again, many thanks for your generous gift.

I think I may be eligible for membership, just bought a Swedish branded razor, a Borlange Maskinaffar, but in big friendly letters on the tang is Bengall

My Bengall says the same thing. The Swedish says that the razor was manufactured in the city of Borlange. Relax--it's stilll a Bengall.

I have a Bengall that I payed $ 15.00. Its very plain with black scales, but it shaves as good as my $ 300.00 razor.
I think any one starting out would do fine with a Bengall. At least you wont spend too much to see if you want
to be a straight razor user.

Seems like Bengalls have become scarce as hen's teeth lately, and what few do show up for sale mostly seem to be in Australia.
