Default Turned on by a razor

OMFG!! (and I hate using these interweb abbreviations so you know it's serious) JMS your W & B 5/8's NOS is such a sexy razor I almost printed it out and kept it between my mattresses.

Me either. According to some reference books this company worked 6 years only, 1920-1926

That explains it then. They aren't the only ones. There have been several companies that lasted only a few years.

I had just an older W&B wedge restored by Steve over at Razorsharpening UK. Was not able yet to take my own pictures and post them here on SRP.
Anyhow, you can catch a glimpse of it under the "Before & After" section of theinvisibleedge here: Restored custom razors
Scroll down to the last razor of the page. The first photos are "before" and when you scroll over them, you'll see the "after". It's amazing what one can do with an old straight which was bought for 10 bucks on the bay..

Make that 2 Wedges I broke one this morning trying to tweak its bent blade!!!
Oh well a WB or two on the way and a C-Mon I hope should take a little sting out of the loss! Its not like it was an Old Joseph Smith and Sons in original Horn Scales......Oh Wait!

Got this razor as part of a lot of three I bought because of a Heljestrand No.4. I was pleasantly surprised to find the other to be an ivory scaled Klas Törnblom Söderfors Specialstål and this Bengall wedge.

Scales are original faux-tortoise horn, but broken. The steel is in a fine condition with little hone wear and just a few light spots and watermarks on an otherwise clean, mirror finished blade. This is how I got it; haven't done anything other than wiping it with a cloth:

Cool, I have that exact same razor and I agree out of the wedges I own, it's the closest one to a "true wedge" I've seen. Incidentally, I'd like anyone to post about any "true wedges" they may own. I don't think there are any; or, if there are, they're beyond rare.

My Bengall has a mirror finish as well. I took mine out recently and it's in line for honing since I've yet to hone it up since I've owned it.
