Well some knucklehead though that a ruined blade was worth over two hundred dollars.

I guess I am just one of those people who will buy it for the blade and scales, not the other way around. I found it funny that the ad said, "Like New."

Agreed - the, "Like New" must have been the seller not knowing that blade had been honed/damaged, or, just an eternal optimist!
For someone who's managed to get a Reaper blade is nice condition, but scales that are pooched, the cost of these scales and the blade is pretty negligible. If those scales were to be matched with a blade in nicer condition, which may have sold for a similar price but the scales were kaput, a complete razor like that would probably get you around $1,500...or a beautiful, very rare razor for your collection.

I happened to have a Grim Reaper that the only thing wrong with it is warped scales and I bought for $60.00 at a swap meet.

Looking closer at those scales looks like the bolsters were transferred onto something else. The surface of the scales looks exactly like when I tried to transfer some bolsters and used poly as a finish. It just didn't look right. Hopefully that isn't the case for whoever bought them.

Thanked: 101Just got the exact razor with pretty light surface rust all over & a very small amount of edge rot but butter knifed it & working on the edge & general cleanup as I write. Mine just says "Made in Soligen Germany" & no US patent stamp. Paid $14.00 for mine. Can't wait to get it done! So I guess I can join the club now!;-)
