A King Cutter is a good Boker to start with rosborn. There are plenty of these about, so you shouldn't have too much trouble picking one up. Good luck with your hunt. I'm pretty well set on making my first straight razor a brand new Boker King Cutter 5/8. I've read good things about the blade. Should I have any concerns about the celluloid scales?
Only the Dubl Duck's & the Otto Deutsch Hans to me are most prone to the cell rot. There might be another I'm forgetting but a lot of others that have celluloid scales aren't so problematic. I'm sure some other members on here might be able to mention some that I didn't. Usually the transparent scales are celluloid unless they are acrylic.Quote:

So that is my 2 cents and I am sure others will chime in. Plus I think the Edelweiss is a no longer so it will be gone when gone. I assume all eventually are. But that one just has alot of curb appeal. They are all 3 shoulder blades so there is not real big difference there.

Here's the deal for me. I am looking at Ralf Aust, Boker and Dovo razors. I like the offerings from all three but am more inclined towards Boker. The first straight razor may not be that big of a deal to many but I want mine to be somewhat special in a current manufacture specimen while still under $200.
