Thanks Hiralau. Does anyone have any idea as to how many different razors Shumate produced?
It would be cool to make it a hobby to acquire as many different ones as possible that they produced but how many are there? My son is a Drill Instructor in the United States Marine Corps at Parris Island, SC

Thanked: 4I've only got 5 of them, but I admit, they're definitely underrated!
They take a heck of an edge very easily!
*EDIT* Hey, I just noticed...someone stole 99% of my posts & most of my thanks!!

I just shaved a while ago for the first time with a Shumate....the Peacemaker I just posted a picture of above.
Best shave yet! I love that razor and can't wait to get the other five Shumates I have restored and honed. I think I'm a Shumate junkie now.My son is a Drill Instructor in the United States Marine Corps at Parris Island, SC

Thanked: 0Well, my first straight and "first" Shumate arrived today. The mailman tossed it to me from 5 feet away, fortunately it was well boxed...
I don't know anything about it's history other than it's a Barber, that at one time "L.M" owned it and seems to have taken pretty good care of it, it has only a few spots and a a nice clean edge. I'm sending it out for a cleaning, polishing and honing then will give it a try.
Counting the days until it comes back...
