The mark was probably granted during the period when the fashion trend of naming was place names. There were all sorts like that: GERMANY, ASIA, INDIA, PATAGONIA, CONGO, etc.

Did I mention old Sheffield was weird?

I've got a pre 1823 Greaves & Sons I restored in original from in camels bone with abalone inlay 😕 I don't feel it's appropriate for stubb tail shavers forum!

After their restorations I'll have 13 more to show but that's gonna be a bit before I'm done.
