Case is an American maker. The relatives of the Case family had companies making razors in the USA, Kinsfolk, Geneva, Genco...not Parker in Japan.

Parker is very much a Japanese razor. Case and family used steel from Buffalo, New York. Parker and most of the Japanese razors used Swedish steel like everyone else, except for the few Japanese Tamahagane steel razors. The look, grind, finish and blade width are very different as well.

I wasn't sure of the history of the Parker brand - but yes like Lindy said I always understood it to be a Japanese maker.

I have several Parker straights. All say Made in Japan. I saw an old thread talking about Case starting to have bad quality control and a company named Parker took over Case from 1988 to 1990 and that Case stopped making straights in 1962. Then Zippo took over. The Japanese Parker is a different maker altogether.

Whilst we are talking about Parker, there is a covered tang version on swedish ebay at the moment without any bids (I wouldn't post about it if someone had already placed bids!). Too much of a dangerous looking toe on it for my liking

I like covered tangs. There are a few Japanese straights for a good price in the Hobbyist/Vendor section of B&B.

A Parker with covered tang are a bit rare. I had one several years ago and traded
it away. I have regretted that decision many times. : P

Our well know seller has one up as well. Still a bit rich for me but it looks to be in excellent conditio.
