    So here is a dumb question!? What side goes against your face while u shave with a kamisori? The flat or hollow side?

    Both sides are hollowed, and you can use either side, but people most commonly use the side with no stamps, the omote.

    It is the the side with the shallower hollow grind, it is not flat although it may look so on some models. Omote is the side with no stamps, the side with stamps is called Ura.

    R.Saito SK1. Minimal honewear, probably honed just a handful of times because it is barely visible.
    That thing is shorter than I expected, shaves like a dream, but it is a tricky bastard to wield.
