    Certainly there are many more.
Yes indeed interesting names, simple designs, and all incredible shavers...

My understanding is that Iwasaki did not want to invest in a factory, it was more cost effective to outsource the work.
Katana polishing is a very different thing, than razor finishing and scale installation.

I also have a Tanifuji Ten Star and I have seen a Tanifuji Clubs or something like that with two stamped Clubs (the card suit) on the tang. It seems like Tanifuji has made razors for various barber supply companies.

    Stefan.

Do you find much difference in terms of craftmanship between the different models? I ask because the prices between different models can vary greatly even from a same seller.
I would venture that they are all top notch just exclusivity defining value.

From my experience with various Tanifuji made razors, they all have the same level of craftsmanship of the blade. Some are more available than others and thus less expensive , the generic CAPE models for example. Some models are less common or have more intricate scales (CAPE Kennedy 77 for example) and thus more expensive, so it is a supply and demand thing on top of the high regard for the brand in Japan.

    Default Japanese Straights

Today I got the Rifuto 2000 in the mailbox. It's my second Japanese razor, and I hope it shaves as fine as my Diamond. Can't wait to shave tomorrow!

Yes. I have a Tanifuji (my best razor actually) that is stamped with a clients brand name.
