The postman was good to me and brought me some goodies today, one of the being a fresh Double Arrow.

Plans right now are just a quick rescale and a hone up to shave ready condition.

Got mine yesterday and did some spine work on it. I am planing on making some scales for it but I wanted to shave with it so I sharpened it and shaved with it tonight. I do have to say the Double Arrow gives a great shave. I am working on another set of scales right now so as soon as they are done the DA will get some new shoes.

I swapped vintage wood (not sure what kind) scales off a trashed antique blade and used adjatalbe pins at the pivot. Love my DA.

This Double Arrow is at least twenty years old. I got it from a lady whose husband died over twenty years ago and she couldn't remember when he actually bought it. Since there wasn't a strop or a hone with it, I would guess that he tried it out once or twice and put it away. It's in 'like new' condition and only needed a good stropping to give me a decent shave. It won't be part of my rotation, but I will keep it because it was a gift. I guess that doesn't qualify me as a devotee, but I am a happy owner.

    Regards - Walt

The mailman was good to me also. I got two today one honed up really well and fast and gave a good shave, the other one is slightly warped but seems hone-able, both have fairly bad scales but they are usable. Not bad for $24.

Well the DA is about to get some new scales. They are Bocote and just rough cut right now but I will post some more as they get done.
