    Default Marshes, Ponds and Environs

    Gentlepeople,
Here around the Sheffield ponds we have many old makers. There are the good Marsh boys and friends, Steer and company. So please take a minute to show off your Ponds Works razors. Even if they are a bit rusty from all that water.

first up a Marshes and Shepherd in pink ivory scales. I like to thank Garythepenman for the scales... he has made some outstanding scales and his restorations are great... you boys down under should be looking him up by now!

Is this thread intended to highlight Sheffield blades or just certain Sheffield blades?

Well preferably "Ponds work" razors, or razors from makers that at one time or another have made "Ponds works" razors. folks like Marsh Brothers, Marshes & Shepherd, Steer and Company, and I'm sure there were many others. Think of the lesser known Sheffield's, not the biggies like WB, Mappin, Wostenholm, etc...

nobody else dwells in the marshes or the ponds?
as i promissed jim, here's my marshes&shepherd. the scales look like bakelite or horn, i'm not really sure. i was surprised to see mirror finish survive over 150 years, but perhaps somebody polished it earlier. the inprints are very deep, and i love the broken 'e' in the 'universally approved' stamp.

Ok, for a second there, I was thinking there's a Sheffield upstate. My bad...
