Not so pretty but it must have been well loved!
James Codfer. I have found no information on him. It has jimps on the thumb side of the tang. Rescale is ~pine with copper horse leather rivets. My guess is 1860-1890. I would love to know its story! She shaves very well and has held a good edge for a couple years.

My fully restored Taylor's 3000, now I have personally restore many 1000 models but this will be my first 3000 these were some of the very last Taylor's to be made, with a slightly shorter blade longer tail and tang than most vintage straight razors they tried to make a better balanced razor, well It certainly feels very well balanced when using the razor shaves like a dream as well, this information was given to me by a TSR UK forum member old blade grinder who worked for Taylor's back in the day. The razors a French point 13/16

Thanked: 3228I got this one awhile back and just love the blade design. It says Edward Smith and no maker. I am assuming is is a Sheffield razor made for Edward Smith of 3 Cheapside which I take it is a London address. Does not say England or Made in England either. If it is not a Sheffield mods please delete it.

This is a Wade & Butcher 5/8 wedge with custom made Ebony scales nickel silver pins and stainless steel washers, and blood red acrylic wedge, I've just finished this one for a member from another forum, the original scales were shot beyond rescue, and there was a nasty nick out of the blade, the owner wanted to keep all the etching so I had to be very careful while restoring this razor, I could only take it so far, I was also told by the owner that he wanted wooden scales, lucky for him that I had a nice piece of Ebony waiting to be used, well now for the photo's.
