Thanked: 22I have but one Brookes & Crookes. Just got it a few months back from my friend Tony in the UK, a member here. A little smaller than the others here, so could I be a 1/2 member?
She may not look like much, but as good a shaver as is in my herd.
Little hard to see the "Sheffield England" at the bottom
Did I mention she is 1-7/8" x 5/8"? And maneurvers around my beard like a race car?
Forgot to mention, notice jimps under tang extend to the heel. I have no reason to believe it was ever a different size.Last edited by bigeasy1; 10-31-2013 at 01:42 AM.

A little embarrassing on several fronts, one, I don't have a better photo of my Jonathan Crookes razor posted earlier in this club and 2....what everyone except me probably noticed, it is not a wedge, I am guessing 1/4 hollow, but that is a guess.

Hate to bump an old thread, but I am new and wanted to know if you could shed more specific light on this find?
Marked: G.Crookes&Co
Sheffield
Sorry if I missed a thread already. I couldn't find anymore info after an exhausting search.www.rzrrestoration.com

G Crookes seems to be an enigma. I have one. Will try to post a pic soon. Apparantly C Crookes is not close to the J Crookes or Brooks and Crookes. G Crookes must be a different maker/family altogether. I could be mistaken. Perhaps mine is a C and not a G?
I shall report back soon."Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.

Ok, I had it the other way around! G Crookes is known. I have one which definitely says 'C Crookes'. Zak said it may be a misstamped 'G'. Looks like a 'C' to me! Great, thin shaver. No, the scales are NOT original! Interestingly, it only has no '& Co', only 'Improved Razor' on the tang. No 'Sheffield' nor anything on the back side!

Ok so got a magnifying glass and a second pair of eyes, and it does indeed say G.Crookes & Co, Sheffield.
Also it has a bird (maybe an eagle) and I can read the first part on the engraving and it says "American" and then I can't read the last part yet.
So is G. Crookes & Co - before or after C. Crookes or not related at all?

I truly have no idea. A George was mentioned back on post 7 in this thread.
A pile of Crookes, for certain!"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.

Yeah I read that. I am curious why there is no info on any of the Razor Makers list for this company. I would assume it was registered with the "co" part right?
