The candy club
Hi all,
Recently this Candidius straight razor came to my rotation and for my taste it is a real beauty.
It has many of the design features of a # 14, yet I can't add this straight razor to my "# 14" topic as the number is not engraved in the metal.
The blade is with 23 mm a 7/8 and the metal is carbon steel.
On various fora I have tried to find information on the Candidius brand and I was unable to find any apart from a topic in this forum pertaining a rescale of a Candidius where no information was given on the brand itself.
For this reason I started "The candy club" topic in the "Razor Clubs" sub forum as there are bound to be more Candidius owners I figured.
Have a look at the following pictures and please share any information you might have on this Solingen brand?

Kindest regards, Jazor.

Thanked: 4Hello,
I'm from Holland and i bought two of these candidius razors.
I'm also thinking that they were made in solingen for Holland. And I'm also curious who produced them.
These razors are looking great and shave very well.
greetings Frank.

Hi Frank,
interesting info: it would be great if you would post pictures of your Candidius razors, so this topic starts to take off.
Questions:
1. What sizes in mm are your Candidius razors,
2. What shapes (spike, round point, other)?
3. How about the boxes that came with yours?
4. What makes you state that they were made for the Dutch market?
Very curious to see and read more info.
Kindest regards, Jazor.

@ Grazor: they are quality Solingen straight razors so they are good shavers in my humble opinion.
"How good" they are above this is very personal I guess.
For me they can measure up to the likes of Henckels and Fillies, even though they are a very different "animal" so to say.
Mainly due to them not being "bellied hollow".
Totally different sound and even though they don't measure a full 8/8, they don't "feel small".
Hope these subjective remarks can help you a little in what you're looking for.
Generally they are inside my "top 3" blades and I really love shaving with them.
Regards, Jazor.

Dear all,
On another straight razor forum I recently was lucky enough to purchase 5 more Candidius razors.
Together with the ones I scored on various auction sites, this made me the happy owner of 7 similar Candidius razors.
These were sent to Brad Maggard (Maggard Razors – Straight Razor Restoration, Custom Scales and Wet Shaving Products) for restoration.
In line with the top quality of other restorations and rescales I had done by Brad, he delivered once again.
Please have a look at the Candidius "set of 7" after Brad took care of them.

It is my aim to have a custom black leather box built for these with blue velvet inlay: any suggestions on whom can make this for me?
Can't wait to give this beautiful set of 7 a try: a fresh razor every day of the week, what a luxury!
Your comments and pictures of your Candidius razors are very welcome in this topic.
Kindest regards, Jazor.
