Thread: 3 Razors @ Yard Sale

The George Ibberson & Co, Firth Stainless, seems to be Canadian branded...it has Eaton's & Co. ( a large Canadian department store) on it....was Eaton's in the UK as well or is it just Canadian?

I have an eatons "our cobalt", it is a fine shaver. From what I could find, eatons sold their own razors around 1910, give or take 5 years. They are most likely Sheffield steel. I don't know if they were sold in England, but I do not think they were.

Mine say's Firth Steel on the blade, Made in Sheffield England, Toronto & Winnipeg. on the tang.

The guy I bought it from, about 60 yrs old, said it was his Grandfathers....thing is like brand new...

You got some winners for sure. I was trying to search out if there was a club for any of these. I know there is a Boker club. You can get a lot of info that way and find others who may know more. Of course I got distracted :<0)

I'm out of town, but I have some old eatons catalogs at home that I will upload, maybe one can help.

Thanks - any info on the George Ibberson would be great! Especially with the Canadian branding.

Also can find absolutely nothing on the Solingen Holeka 50 razor...anyone have any ideas?
